Trained as a Sivananda yoga teacher, I currently teach primarily in Dorset and Hampshire. Sivananda yoga follows the teachings of Swami Sivananda and aims to keep the vitality of the body by focusing on the five points of yoga.
Proper Breathing : Pranayama (breathing exercises)
Exercises : Asanas (postures)
Relaxation : Savasana (relaxation pose)
Diet : Vegetarian
Positive thinking and Meditation
I am also trained in the practice of Ayurvedic Yoga. Ayurveda = knowledge of life, the main belief of Ayurvedic medicine is the theory that health exists when there is a balance between the three Doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Booking a one to one consultation will determine your predominant Dosha and any imbalances, which consequently decides on a yoga practice to suit your Ayurvedic constitution, thus helping to reduce those imbalances. Healing consists of a combination of asana, pranayama, chanting and meditation based upon Ayurvedic principles.
